Earlier this year ADT acquired FirstService Security, costing approximately $187 million, but garnering many advantageous results. Previously a division of FirstService Corporation, FirstService Security is now a part of ADT North America. It also was previously under the SST (Security Services & Technologies) brand, and Intercon Security in Canada.
Of the acquisition, President of ADT North America, John Koch, said “FirstService Security has a reputation for quality service and an ability to meld physical security with information technology, providing end-users with customized, integrated systems.” He added that “Having the skills and technological know-how to work with today’s information systems and networks is vital.” This adds to ADT’s services because “FSS will expand capabilities in this area, opening up new business opportunities in key vertical markets such as banking and energy.”
ADT has formed a new division, entitled ADT Integrated Solutions, which is headed up by Frank Brewer, who formerly served as the Chief Executive Officer of FSS. Brewer stated, “We are pleased to be part of ADT with its strong brand recognition and powerful marketing that will help deliver our message of high quality service for integrated systems on a large scale. The capabilities of our people and the technologies we have developed, combined with ADT’s strong presence, will provide current and prospective customers with value-added services and solutions.”
Not only has this bolstered ADT’s integrated security systems, like installation and monitoring, FSS has proven an industry leader in a variety of industries and markets. With FSS, ADT is taking the next step towards protecting everything that matters.
