Thief Leaves Shoe Behind

6 July, 2009

In Howell, MI, Anthony O’Connor has pleaded guilty for conspiring to commit second-degree home invasion and attempting first-degree home invasion in Brighton. O’Connor reportedly left his shoe behind while trying to break into his cousin’s home. After receiving his sentence on August 13th, he may serve up to 15 years in prison.

According to local authorities, O’Connor and an accomplice named Joshua Ryan Moran knocked on the victim’s door with the intention of breaking in. When the victim responded “who is it,” the suspects fled the scene. A preliminary examination on July 8th will determine whether or not there is enough evidence (the shoe?) for O’Connor to be charged further.

Break-ins are often committed by acquaintances – that is why it is important to be extra cautious. In this case, a teenager was plotting to burglarize the home of his own family member. Protect yourself with affordable home security equipment, and avoid loss! What if the victim hadn’t been home? A monitored alarm would have been a great way of catching the teenagers red-handed.
